FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short and honest. If something's missing, write to us.

01

Does Verso really cost just once?

Yes. Verso costs a one-time $4.99. No subscription, no recurring charge, no hidden in-app purchases beyond that. Buy once, use Verso forever.

02

Do I need an account?

No. You open the app and scan. No sign-up, no email, no login. Verso asks for nothing it doesn't need.

03

Does Verso work offline?

Yes. Scanning, OCR, PDF creation and export all run entirely on your device. Verso needs no internet connection to work.

04

Where are my documents stored?

Locally on your device. Verso runs no servers of its own and uploads nothing to us. You share your scans through the iOS share sheet to wherever you want — Files, Mail, AirDrop, anywhere.

05

You say “no servers” — what about iCloud sync?

Verso has no servers of its own. Sync is optional and runs entirely through your iCloud — end-to-end between your Apple devices. We operate nothing in between and never see your documents. If you don't turn sync on, everything stays local on the device.

06

Does Verso have OCR and searchable PDFs?

Yes. Text recognition runs on the device and makes every scanned PDF searchable. Verso also suggests a sensible file name from the recognised text. You can export that text as a Word file too.

07

How is Verso different from Apple Notes?

Notes hides its scanner behind three taps, exports no searchable text and caps at 24 pages. Verso is a dedicated app: one tap from the widget, OCR PDFs, signature, password protection, automatic file names and a Mac app.

08

I'm coming from Microsoft Lens — what does Verso offer?

Microsoft Lens was discontinued in March 2026. Verso is the local alternative: documents stay on the device instead of OneDrive, there's Word export and automatic image clean-up — exactly what Lens users miss.

09

Does Verso run on iPad and Mac?

Yes. Verso has a dedicated iPad layout and a native Mac app. You scan on iPhone or iPad; on the Mac you view your scans and drag them straight into other apps.

10

What languages is Verso available in?

Twelve: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Polish, Korean, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified).
